dialnote keeps you in the loop with push notifications, in-app alerts, and real-time updates across web, iOS, and Android. You'll never miss a call, message, or team mention — even when you're away from your desk.

Notification Types#

dialnote sends notifications for these events:

  • Missed calls — Get alerted when an inbound call goes unanswered so you can call back quickly.
  • Voicemails — Know the moment a caller leaves a voicemail, with a direct link to listen.
  • Incoming SMS — See new text messages from customers right away.
  • Call recordings — Get notified when a recording is ready to review.
  • Team mentions — If someone @mentions you in a note, you'll get a dedicated "You were mentioned" alert.
  • AI Agent escalations — When your AI voice agent can't handle a call and needs human help, you'll see a "Bot needs help" notification.

Enabling Push Notifications#

On the Web#

  1. Go to Settings → Notifications.
  2. Toggle Push Notifications on.
  3. Your browser will ask for notification permission — click Allow.
  4. That's it. You'll see a green Enabled badge when everything's working.

If you accidentally blocked notifications, your browser won't ask again. You'll need to update the permission in your browser's site settings, then toggle the switch again in dialnote.

On Mobile#

The dialnote mobile app uses native push notifications — APNs on iOS and FCM on Android. When you first log in, the app asks for notification permission. If you accept, you're all set.

Each device registers separately, so you can get notifications on your phone, tablet, and desktop at the same time. When you log out, the device is automatically deregistered so you won't get stray alerts.

On Android, dialnote creates a notification channel with maximum priority and Do Not Disturb bypass, so urgent calls still come through even in quiet mode.

In-App Alerts#

Beyond push notifications, dialnote shows real-time alerts inside the app. These appear as badge counts and are powered by live updates — no need to refresh.

There are two alert types:

  • Mention — Someone tagged you in a note or comment.
  • Assignment — A conversation was assigned to you.

Both types play a sound (if your device allows it) and update the notification badge instantly. Alerts are scoped to your current workspace, so you'll only see what's relevant.

Testing Notifications#

Want to make sure everything's connected? You can send a test push notification from the API:

POST /v1/push/test

This fires a test notification to all your registered devices. It's a quick way to verify your setup works before relying on it for real calls.

Managing Your Devices#

dialnote tracks each device you've logged into. Every device gets its own push token, tied to your user account and workspace. If you log out or uninstall the app, the token is removed automatically.

You can register tokens for three platforms: iOS, Android, and Web. There's no limit on how many devices you can use — all of them will receive notifications at the same time.
